Foreign nationals seeking Indonesian citizenship through naturalization will be subject to an official fee of IDR 75 million, categorized as Non‑Tax State Revenue.
This tariff marks an increase from the previous IDR 50 million and does not include other potential costs related to fulfilling administrative requirements.
Indonesia’s Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, explained that the adjustment was made because the service fee had not been updated for a long time. He added that the increase also supports digital transformation and the maintenance of public service systems within the Ministry of Law.
New Naturalization Tariff
Minister Supratman further detailed that the government had not raised the fee in the past ten years. He emphasized that the higher tariff should not be an issue given the profile of applicants.
According to him, most applicants are foreign nationals who have lived in Indonesia for five consecutive years or ten non‑consecutive years, a group considered to have sufficient economic capacity.
“There is no problem. Because on average, those who wish to become citizens — especially foreign nationals who have lived five consecutive years in Indonesia or ten non‑consecutive years — are generally people with stronger economic means,” Supratman said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.
