Pikiran Rakyat are reporting on plans to hold the Bali International Airshow in 2024, the first such international aviation exhibition in Indonesia for more than 30-years.
This event is slated to take place thanks to the cooperation of PT Inaro Tujuh Belas with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia.
In his official statement, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, stated that aviation exhibitions are important to be held in Indonesia given the crucial role of aviation in the country.
“Indonesia, which consists of 17,000-islands, requires a large investment to improve the domestic aviation industry. Indonesia currently has 673-airports of various sizes in various regions, of course, the development and management of which require a lot of money,” he said in an official statement received by Pikiran Rakyat on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
Therefore, according to Luhut, it is important that the Bali International Airshow be held so that development goals can be achieved and different elements of the local and international aviation industry can be brought together.
The implementation of this event is also expected to increase bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and other countries in the Asia Pacific region, Europe and the United States, say Pikiran Rakyat.
