Head of Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport immigration office, Johanes Fanny Satria Cahya Aprianto, said on Saturday (22/3/25,) is operating 98 auto gates to streamline immigration inspections during the annual Eid al-Fitr exodus in preparation for a surge passengers, according to reporting from Antara News, adding that his office has deployed 531 personnel to ensure smooth and efficient immigration processing at the airport.
To prevent overcrowding and long queues, the immigration office has issued detailed instructions to officers, enabling them to assist passengers in using the auto gates.
Aprianto explained that these preparations are essential to accommodate the expected increase in returning Indonesian migrant workers and members of the Indonesian diaspora coming home to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families, says Antara News.
He urged homecoming travelers to remain calm, follow procedures, and cooperate during immigration inspections to facilitate a smooth process.
Antara News reports that during the holiday period, the immigration office will continue offering expedited passport renewal services, ensuring faster processing for those whose passports are set to expire within six months.
Aprianto reaffirmed his office’s commitment to delivering top-quality services while preventing unethical practices such as illegal fees and bribery.
“People can submit reports or complaints to our WhatsApp hotline at 08118337004. The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration Office is committed to providing professional, transparent, clean, and corruption-free services,” he said.
