Garuda Indonesia Wins World’s Best Cabin Crew 2023

Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has obtained global recognition by winning the World’s Best Airline Cabin Crew 2023 awarded by the World Airline Awards’, according to reporting from Tempo. The award was held by British independent aviation rating Skytrax.

Irfan Setiaputra, Garuda president director, responded to the news in a written statement, crediting the award to “Prioritizing Indonesian hospitality culture, which we also represent through the cabin crew service philosophy in all lines of flight services.”

Tempo say that this is the sixth time Garuda Indonesia have won the award, after claiming the title between 2014 and 2018 and is the only airliner to take the prestige title for the sixth time.

“Through the Because You Matter philosophy, we strive to continuously improve services at various touch points in line with the needs and aspirations of passengers,” said Setiaputra.

The award was presented directly by Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted to Irfan Setiaputra at the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards, which was held at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace (Air and Space Museum) together in conjunction with the aerospace exhibition The Paris Air Show 2023 at Le Bourget, Paris, France, report Tempo.

According to Plaisted, it is not an easy task maintaining the service aspect in the midst of various performance challenges that must be faced by the airline industry after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The assessment of The World’s Best Airline Cabin Crew 2023 was carried out on a number of positive aspects of the technical services provided, including the characteristics displayed by the cabin crew, especially the attitude of professionalism, enthusiasm, and hospitality to service users.
