Mychal Jefferson, Chairman of Hamerslag Private, was speaking at the “New York-Indonesia Investment Forum” webinar recently where he said Indonesia offers enormous opportunities to enter the top 4 economies in the world based on geography, population, natural resources and strategic location, according to a BeritaSatu.Com report.
“I think Indonesia will become the 4th largest economic power in the world based on geography and population – the most important pillars Indonesia has are location, natural resources and human resources, especially the younger generation,” said Jefferson.
Meanwhile, Founder & Chairman of the Indonesia Investment Forum, Christovita Wiloto explained that this activity needs to be carried out to see opportunities for investors to enter Indonesia.
“Activities like this are important to open up opportunities for investors to see Indonesia. Because Indonesia has a very high need for investment, as well as a very large investment opportunity for all global investors. Therefore, since 2013, the ‘Indonesia Investment Forum’ has continued to be held in Singapore and Hong Kong because there are many entrepreneurs who might be able to look at Indonesia as a country that can be used to invest,” explained Christovita.
Christovita also explained that the “New York-Indonesia Investment Forum” will focus on discussing investment needs per industrial sector in Indonesia, namely infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, property, banking and finance, health, education, tourism, and logistics.
“Sectors that can develop, such as plantations and forestry, satellite and telecommunications, energy, oil and gas, minerals and coal, fisheries, aviation, and start-ups, also need attention, in order to develop and make Indonesia a new economic power in the world. Moreover, Indonesia has a high population and needs in all sectors,” he said.
The expectation is that through this event, the eyes of the world will be opened, especially for global investors to want to invest their funds in all sectors which are expected to make Indonesia a developed country.
“The goals of the ‘New York-Indonesia Investment Forum’ are to bridge the investment needs of business players and local governments from Sabang to Merauke in Indonesia, with global investors.”
