According to reporting from Tempo, Indonesia’s State Electricity Company (PLN) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT SAIC General Motors Wuling regarding the installation of home charging or private power charging for electric cars.
With the MoU, the installation of Wuling electric car owners’ home charging can be completed within seven days. “PLN continues to collaborate with various stakeholders, including Wuling, to facilitate users in charging their vehicles,” said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo in a written statement on Sunday (23/2/25.)
Darmawan said that the cooperation with the Wuling is in line with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 79 of 2023 concerning the acceleration of battery-based electric motor vehicles for road transportation. Currently, he said, PLN plans to expand partnerships with various stakeholders to accelerate the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, says Tempo.
PLN signed the MoU with Wuling through its subsidiary, PT Haleyora Power. Acting President Director of Haleyora Power Susiana Mutia hoped that the cooperation between the two companies could encourage the ownership of electric vehicles in Indonesia. “Through this MoU, we are committed to providing home charging services for Wuling customers within a maximum of seven days from the date of application,” said Susiana.
Tempo reports that based on the agreement in this cooperation, Wuling is responsible for providing information to customers about the home charging installation process. Meanwhile, Haleyora Power will conduct site surveys, install home charging devices, and handle the maintenance and repair of devices within the specified period.
Wuling Motors Aftersales Director Maulana Hakim explained that home charging for customers is an important factor in facilitating electric car owners. “To realize this service, Wuling cooperates with PLN and PLN Haleyora Power for fast and practical installation,” said Maulana.
Previously, Haleyora Power had collaborated in bundling home charging with seventeen other electric car brands in Indonesia, including Hyundai, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Mini Cooper, Chery, DFSK, Aion, BYD, MG, Citroen, Volvo, Toyota, Lexus, KIA, Volkswagen, and Neta.
