Java Priority Train Launched for the Holidays

Hendy Helmi, President Director of Indonesia’s state railway operator’s tourism subsidiary, KAI Wisata, launched the Java Priority Train on Thursday (19/12/24,) connecting Gambir Station in Jakarta and Yogyakarta for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, according to Antara News.

In an official statement released by KAI Wisata, the Java Priority Train, which offers round trips from Gambir to Yogyakarta, will operate until January 5, 2025.

The premium tourist train service has been specifically designed to provide a comfortable and luxurious journey and is equipped with a number of facilities, including ergonomic reclining seats, audio-visual entertainment, free Wi-Fi, and premium food and beverage options. Passengers can also spend time at the VIP waiting room while waiting for the train.

The Java Priority Train has three types of trains: two Imperial Trains, five Priority Trains, and one Dining On Train.

According to Antara News, the Java Priority Train can accommodate a total of 190 passengers and will leave from Gambir at 12:45 p.m. local time and depart from Yogyakarta at 11:40 p.m. local time. The train will only operate from December 19, 2024, to January 5.

Ticket prices for the Java Priority Train start from IDR 950,000, and seats can be booked through the Access by KAI mobile application.

“With the Java Priority Train, we hope to provide a more exclusive travel experience for the public while encouraging tourism growth, especially in Yogyakarta as a favorite destination among tourists,” Helmi said.
