JAKARTA — In his fourth cabinet reshuffle since taking office, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto swore in six new officials on Monday, April 27, 2026.

The appointments, formalized under several presidential decrees, involve a mix of new faces and returning officials assuming different roles.
New Faces New Mandates
At the forefront stands Jumhur Hidayat, once known for labor advocacy, now serving as both Minister of Environment and leader of the Environmental Control Agency. His first focus – waste management in Indonesia – is framed by a need to meet international benchmarks.

Now serving as Presidential Chief of Staff is Dudung Abdurachman, formerly an army general. Following his appointment, hours were set aside for continuous public access to state leadership.

Two officials return to the administration. Hasan Nasbi, formerly head of the Presidential Communication Office, is now the President’s Special Advisor for Communication, ensuring continuity in messaging strategy.
Abdul Kadir Karding, a former minister, resumes his role as Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, pledging to tighten biosecurity without disrupting trade flows.
The reshuffle reflects President Prabowo’s effort to adjust his team amid shifting demands—refining rather than overhauling the structure.
