Hotels See 19 Percent Price Increase Ahead of the Event
As in previous years, the Mandalika race is providing a major boost to the tourism sector in Lombok and southern Bali (Sanur and Denpasar). According to SiteMinder, average hotel rates for October 2–5, 2025, have surged 19% compared to the same period last year. The Average Daily Rate (ADR) has climbed to around USD 194, with bookings rising nearly 10% as strong demand continues.
“The increase in rates in Lombok and South Bali is a positive indicator that demand for local accommodation is strengthening. Hotels in these areas have also demonstrated good adaptability in managing the surge,” said Rio Ricaro, Country Manager of SiteMinder Indonesia, as quoted by PropertynBank.
Ricaro highlighted that MotoGP Indonesia is a successful example of how international sporting events can drive domestic tourism growth, further cementing Indonesia’s position as a leading sportainment destination in Asia.
Despite rising demand, the Mataram City Government has urged hotels and restaurants not to exploit the event with unfair pricing.
“We urge our colleagues in the hotel sector not to raise room rates beyond reasonable levels,” said Cahya Samudra, Head of the Mataram Tourism Office (11/9/2025), as reported by Detik.
Cahya also reminded culinary businesses to keep prices fair and focus instead on quality service and authentic Lombok flavors.
“Our hope is to be good hosts, offering the best experience with hospitality,” Cahya said.
Mandalika’s Growing Global Appeal
Last year’s MotoGP Mandalika attracted more than 120,000 spectators, including many international visitors. This year, motorcycle communities from Malaysia and Slovenia are confirmed to attend, further boosting Lombok’s global profile.
The parade will feature 12 MotoGP riders, including Francesco Bagnaia, Fabio Quartararo, Marco Bezzecchi, Luca Marini, Maverick Vinales, Alex Marquez, Brad Binder, Miguel Oliveira, Raul Fernandez, Franco Morbidelli, Fabio Di Giannantonio, and Somkiat Chantra. Interestingly, Marc Marquez’s name is not on the list. However, Priandhi and his team are still working to bring ‘The Baby Alien’ to the event on race day.
With international stars on the track and thousands of fans expected to arrive, the 2025 Mandalika MotoGP promises both world-class racing and significant economic impact for the region.
