Jakarta Fair 2025 officially opened at JIExpo Kemayoran from June 19 to July 13. This marking not just a celebration of the big city’s anniversary but also a major step toward Jakarta’s transformation into a global city.
The fair coincides with Jakarta’s 498th anniversary, carrying the theme “Jakarta, a Cultured Global City.” The main celebration is set for June 22, 2025, at Lapangan Banteng in Central Jakarta, blending modernity and cultural richness in one stage.
Governor Pramono Anung led the opening ceremony, emphasizing the strategic significance of this annual event. “Jakarta Fair is not just about promotions and entertainment. It represents our spirit and commitment to becoming a global city. I sincerely hope this event and Jakarta’s anniversary celebration run smoothly,” Pramono stated, as quoted by CNN Indonesia.
Pramono highlighted that Jakarta aims to be among the top 50 global cities in the next five years. “Currently, Jakarta ranks 74 out of 156 cities. We aim to break into the top 50 and eventually the top 20 in the next 20 years,” he said.
