Tempo are reporting that the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Class I Immigration Office is appealing to the public to be vigilant over fake websites for Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) applications.
“There are fake websites for e-VoA applications,” said the airport immigration office head Muhammad Tito Andriantohe in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) forum at the Mercure Convention Center, Ancol, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
Tito asserted that e-VoA can only be processed through the official website of Indonesian Immigration at molina.imigrasi.go.id. “Other than that, is confirmed to be fake and is a cybercrime,” he said.
The number of foreign citizens using e-VoA has increased significantly in the past month. Based on the data, 52,386-foreigners used Visa on Arrival (VoA), and 3,713-foreigners used e-VoA throughout November, report Tempo.
Tito regretted that the increase in the use of e-VoA among foreign nationals was exploited by irresponsible parties who created imitation websites.
Launched on November 9, the e-VoA app is the latest innovation developed by the Directorate General of Immigration to provide convenience for foreign citizens who wish to enter Indonesian territory.
E-VoA submission and payment processes can be made abroad so that users will only join in a queue one time during immigration checks.
“With e-VoA, foreigners who arrive in Indonesia can go directly to the Immigration check-in counter without having to stand in line to pay for a visa again,” Tito explained.
