With 24-days to go to the G20 Summit in Bali, Tempo are reporting that acting Director General of immigration, Widodo Ekatjahjana, has announced all G20 foreign delegates and journalists associated with the event are exempt from needing a visa to enter Indonesia.
Widodo explained that the policy is aimed at supporting the country’s G20 Presidency which is slated to take place on November 15-16, 2022, in Bali.
“We provide visa-free entry to foreign delegates and journalists who will participate in G20 to ease their tasks,” Widodo said in a press release received by Tempo on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
The visa-free entry, he added, is valid for a stay of up to 30-days and cannot be extended.
To get the facility, foreign delegates and journalists are required to present the following documents:
- Passport (a diplomatic passport, a service passport, or a general passport that is valid for at least six months).
- A return or a one-way ticket to continue the journey to another country.
- Proof of registration or invitation letter for foreign journalists or delegates.
“This policy is a form of support from the Directorate General of Immigration in the success of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency, especially through the ease of the immigration process,” said Widodo.
