A press release published on the website of The President of The Republic of Indonesia on Tuesday (13/5/25,) has announced that President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, will receive an official visit from Australian Prime Minister (PM), Anthony Albanese in Indonesia from 14 to 16 May. This visit is PM Albanese’s first overseas trip after being re-elected in the Australian federal election and inaugurated on 13 May 2025.
“PM Albanese, who has just been re-elected as Prime Minister of Australia, is scheduled to be inaugurated on May 13, 2025, and will immediately depart to begin his visit to Indonesia the following day, on the evening of May 14, 2025,” reads a post on the Cabinet Secretariat’s official social media account.
The meeting between President Prabowo and PM Albanese is planned to take place at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta with a number of meeting agendas. In the meeting, the two leaders will discuss various priority issues, including increasing Indonesia-Australia cooperation in various sectors.
Previously, on Monday (12/5/25), Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, met with the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Roderick Bruce Brazier, at the Cabinet Secretariat Building, Jakarta, to discuss the agenda for PM Albanese’s visit.
This official visit is expected to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Australia in various strategic sectors. In addition, this visit is expected to produce a number of concrete agreements that bring direct benefits to the people of both countries.
