Immigration Offices Open Until 3 PM During Ramadan

The Directorate General of Immigration, under the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, has adjusted its immigration service hours across Indonesia for Ramadan 1446 Hijri (during March 2025).

This change was announced via the official Instagram account of the Directorate General of Immigration, @ditjen_imigrasi.

Acting Director General of Immigration, Saffar Muhammad Godam, confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday that despite the schedule adjustment, public services will remain optimal.

“This adjustment is made to respect and accommodate both the public and employees observing Ramadan fasting while ensuring that immigration services continue to run efficiently,” Godam stated on March 4, 2025, as reported by antaranews.com.

New Immigration Service Hours During Ramadan 2025

According to government regulations on working hours during Ramadan 1446 Hijri (March 2025), the new immigration office hours are as follows:

  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00 AM – 03:00 PM local time (Break: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM)
  • Friday: 08:00 AM – 03:30 PM (Break: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
  • Weekend Passport Services (Saturday & Sunday): 08:00 AM – 02:00 PM (Break: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM)

Godam explained that this adjustment aligns with the Ramadan working hours set by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.

He also encouraged the public to confirm service schedules at immigration service units, including public service malls, Immigration Work Units, Passport Service Units, and immigration lounges, as there may be variations depending on local office policies.

For more details on immigration services during Ramadan, the public can check the official social media pages of their respective immigration offices.

“On behalf of the immigration department, I would like to extend my best wishes to all Muslims in Indonesia for a blessed and fulfilling Ramadan,” Godam concluded.

Reduced Working Hours for Civil Servants During Ramadan

Earlier, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini, stated that President Prabowo Subianto has approved a reduction in working hours for civil servants during Ramadan.

Throughout the month, civil servants will work 32 hours and 30 minutes per week, averaging 6 hours per day for a five-day workweek.

This policy is in line with Presidential Regulation No. 21/2023 on Government Office Hours and Civil Servant Work Schedules, which aims to maintain public services while enhancing productivity among government employees.

“The regulation ensures that civil servants can continue providing essential services while optimizing their productivity,” Rini stated in an official press release on Friday, February 28, 2025, as reported by tempo.co.

Immigration Office Holiday Schedule for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr

Meanwhile, due to the close timing of the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr celebrations at the end of March 2025, immigration office services and operations are scheduled to be closed on March 28, 2025, and will resume normal working hours on April 8, 2025.
