A press release from the website of The President of The Republic of Indonesia has announced that President Joko Widodo and First Lady Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo departed for East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Monday afternoon, March 13 2023, after a working visit to Bali.
The Indonesian-1 Presidential plane carrying the President and the First Lady arrived at Komodo Airport, West Manggarai Regency at around 18.00 WITA. The President is scheduled to review a number of places that will be used for the upcoming 42nd ASEAN Summit in May.
According to reporting from Tempo, the President has personally monitored the progress of several venues slated for the Summit, which will be held in Labuan Bajo.
In an official press statement on March 14, the President wrote that “Each and every ASEAN member will be present.”
At the location, he confirmed that several venues are ready to host the regional event, and only a few finishing touches were left. “But the most important thing is that later we also want to promote Labuan Bajo as a super-priority destination,” Jokowi said.
Upon encouraging the development of Labuan Bajo as a super-priority tourist destination the President inaugurated the Labuan Bajo-Golo Mori Access Road located at the West Manggarai Regency, report Tempo, which is expected to improve connectivity in order to develop Labuan Bajo as a super-priority tourist destination.
