Ministry of Communications and Informatics Tuesday (08/02) decided to open the access to five electronic services providers (PSE) namely Steam, CS:GO, and DOTA (Valve Corp), Paypal, and Yahoo.
“Five of seven PSEs that have been the talk of the public such as Paypal and Steam have been restored,” Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate said at the Presidential Office, Jakarta.
Johnny stated that the Ministry has encouraged the PSE registration to the United States Embassy in Jakarta.
“With the assistance and communication carried out by the US Embassy, I hope the registration will be carried out soon since the registration is very simple,” he said, while reinforcing the commitment to support digital creativity and innovation in accordance with existing regulations.
“Our support for the digital space is strong and we encourage the platforms to carry out proper compliance with Indonesia’s laws and regulations,” he concluded.
For the record, the Ministry has unblocked Paypal since Sunday (07/31) at 08:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) while Valve (Steam, CS:GO, and DOTA) and Yahoo have been restored since Tuesday (08/02) at 08:30 WIB. (DND/UN) (GWH/HD/EP)
